NINEHOUND / A LIFE IN FOCUS

Aamir Khan: a name on screen and in production credits

Acting, directing and producing change the way he participates in a film.

DOCUMENTED LIFE

The same name, a different responsibility

India's National Film Archive biography lists Aamir Khan's performances, including Lagaan in 2001. An actor reaches an audience through a character within a script and a director's arrangement. For Taare Zameen Par in 2007, the Australian classification record identifies Khan as director and producer, extending his responsibilities beyond performance.

The 2025 record for Sitaare Zameen Par lists him among the producers and R.S. Prasanna as director. Similar titles and a shared name in the credits must not make the later film another Khan-directed production. The work of other credited producers also remains part of the account.

TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION

Presentation with developmental support

The civil date of 14 March 1965 gives Yi-Si year, Ji-Mao month and Ding-Mao day. No hour is known. Ding Fire offers an image of specific presentation, Yi and the two Mao branches bring development, Ji Earth adds organization, and Si Fire retains public expression.

The reading can ask how acting experience enters directing and how production obtains conditions for completion. Wood and Fire do not establish talent, and Earth cannot guarantee a project's success. Registration establishes duties and dates, not artistic outcomes. The chart cannot merge different directors' and producers' contributions into one day stem.

EDITORIAL REFLECTION

Credits show what actually expanded

A career does not require every task in every film to belong to one person. Acting, directing and producing have different responsibilities. Reading them clearly turns a familiar name into a guide to actual work rather than a stamp claiming all of a film's labour.
