NINEHOUND / A LIFE IN FOCUS

Dr. Dre: the recording led toward products and other institutions

An album, a listening product and an education project required different work.

DOCUMENTED LIFE

A career wider than a recording studio

GRAMMY records identify The Chronic as Dr. Dre’s 1992 solo debut. In 2013 he and Jimmy Iovine funded an academy at USC connecting arts, technology and business. On 28 May 2014 Apple announced an agreement to acquire the Beats businesses they co-founded.[1][2][3]

A record is a work, headphones and streaming are products and services, and an academy has continuing teaching responsibilities. These can appear within one career without being explained entirely by a label of business instinct. Each needs partners, teams and execution. Apple’s May announcement recorded an agreement, not the completion of every transaction procedure that day.

TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION

Gui Water and Mao Wood: expression finds new interfaces

The reference is Yi-Si, Wu-Yin, Gui-Mao. Gui Water producing Mao Wood can ask how output develops connections; Wu Earth brings organisation and practical conditions back into the discussion.

The hour is unverified and a birthday guarantees no sale price, fortune or destined partnership. A more specific question concerns how experience with sound enters a product and what capabilities have to be added outside a studio. Cultural images can supply questions, while releases and institutional announcements establish the events that actually occurred.

EDITORIAL REFLECTION

Identify the new work before expanding

Success can create opportunities and encourage an underestimate of an unfamiliar field. Making a strong work does not automatically establish competence in distribution, branding or education. Carry experience forward while naming what partners and new skills must contribute.

Turning points

  1. Releases solo debut The Chronic [1]

  2. Funds an interdisciplinary USC academy with Iovine [2]
