DOCUMENTED LIFE
A career between two cities
Bican joined Rapid Vienna in 1931, beginning a professional career. He represented Austria at the 1934 World Cup, where the team reached the semi-finals. Moving to Slavia Prague in 1937, he helped win the Mitropa Cup in 1938 and later represented Czechoslovakia. Coaching followed playing. His name now often appears beside extraordinary scoring totals, but institutions use different boundaries for official matches and other games. His sustained work within particular clubs, competitions and periods offers firmer ground than an isolated aggregate.
TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION
Precision in a working setting
The reference for 25 September 1913 is 癸丑, 辛酉 and 己酉. 己 earth can picture the working ground; 辛 metal and the repeated 酉 branches suggest precision. Beside a striker's work, how does an opportunity become a dependable action? Metal imagery neither establishes technical ability nor computes goals.
癸 water's finer movement can prompt attention to adaptation across teams and systems. His hour is unknown, so no complete structure is offered. War and political circumstances belong to historical evidence, not an elemental account of personal luck.
EDITORIAL REFLECTION
Define a comparison first
A record deserves respect and an account of its method. Hiding differences between periods reduces comparison to an exciting number. Remembering an athlete carefully means also remembering the rules and world in which the work was done. The context does not diminish achievement; it makes the claim intelligible.
