Different lengths and materials
Martin Scorsese won the directing Oscar for The Departed in 2007. In 2011, the Television Academy recognized his direction of the Boardwalk Empire pilot. A feature organizes a completed narrative; a pilot also establishes relationships that can sustain subsequent episodes. These are different responsibilities, not merely additions to one award total.
He won the nonfiction directing Emmy for George Harrison: Living in the Material World in 2012. The programme also received recognition in the nonfiction special category, with its own production scope. Documentary work engages existing people, voices and materials. A shared director's name connects works without making their conditions identical.

The civil date of 17 November 1942 gives Ren-Wu year, Xin-Hai month and Jia-Xu day. No hour is known. Jia Wood offers an image of organizing content, Ren and Hai Water bring circulating material, Xin Metal adds selection, and Wu Fire with Xu Earth retains presentation and support.
The reading can ask what is selected and how each form obtains its structure. Wood and Water cannot certify directing talent, nor can Xin explain awards. Scripts, editing and collaborators require their own evidence. Symbolism helps arrange the questions rather than evaluate the production for us.

A strong style still owes something to its material
Directing involves more than recognizable authorship. A feature, an opening episode and a documentary have objects that need selection and support. Reading the responsibilities makes continuing creative judgment more visible than a signature alone.
