From Hannah Montana to Flowers
Hannah Montana, starring Cyrus, premiered on Disney Channel on 24 March 2006, bringing an early public presence through a character and songs. Solo album Breakout appeared in 2008, Party in the U.S.A. in 2009 and Wrecking Ball on Bangerz in 2013 widened her musical recognition. Endless Summer Vacation followed in 2023. Flowers won record of the year and pop solo performance at the 2024 Grammys, the year she also became a Disney Legend. Disney and Recording Academy records give the screen character and subsequent music separate places. A familiar name did not remain within one role; new works still needed a voice and a way of being heard.
