NINEHOUND / A LIFE IN FOCUS

Sandra Perković: another contest after gold

Different results across three Games preserve more than one medal colour.

DOCUMENTED LIFE

Each Games measures again

World Athletics lists Perković’s Olympic discus titles in 2012 and 2016 and world titles in 2013 and 2017. Under the name Elkasević, she received Paris bronze in 2024; the official biographical record preserves the same birth date.[1]

TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION

Ding Fire and Wu Fire: intensity with measure

The reference is 庚午, 壬午, 丁巳. Ding Fire’s expression beside repeated Wu and Si frames intensity retaining measure; Geng Metal and Ren Water introduce objectives and rules. The hour is unknown. Fire cannot calculate throwing distance or predict a medal colour at particular Games.

A discus result requires a legal attempt to convert preparation into distance. Intensity operates with sequence, field and rules. Water, Fire and Metal can ask how each contest accepts another measurement. A name carries no earlier result into the circle, and technical explanations need training and competition evidence.

EDITORIAL REFLECTION

Medal colour is not the whole assessment

Describing later bronze as decline may let medal colour make the judgement too early. A long chronology needs conditions and opponents at different contests. Gold and bronze preserve their respective performances. Assessing continued competition should involve more than demanding repetition of an earlier ranking.
