DOCUMENTED LIFE
From earlier film work to two Bonds
Dalton appeared in The Lion in Winter in 1968, an early film milestone preserved by 007 Magazine. The official Bond archive records his first filming as Bond at Pinewood on 29 September 1986, before The Living Daylights appeared in 1987. His final Bond filming took place in Mexico on 19 November 1988, preceding Licence to Kill in 1989. Filming and release retain their separate dates here. A character already familiar to audiences brings a series' formal demands to a new actor while requiring fresh judgement. An actor is broader than two films, yet still has to complete the character within their limited span.
TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION
Development within an established form
The reference for 21 March 1946 is 丙戌, 辛卯 and 甲午. 甲 wood suggests development, 辛 distinctions and fire expression. How can an established form retain recognition while a character gains new substance? A chart cannot decide who is the best Bond.
戌 earth suggests script and production supports. His hour is unknown. A character's calm, violence or choices do not establish the actor's private personality. A screen figure remains a collaborative creation beyond a complete-chart claim.
EDITORIAL REFLECTION
Receiving a role need not mean repetition
A classic character brings an audience's memory, while an actor needs something beyond that memory to work. Continuation and change together give a new work a reason to exist. His experience asks how a familiar name becomes visible again through another body, voice and set of actions.
