DOCUMENTED LIFE
Movement, writing and translation
The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Renditions biography identifies Ba Jin as Li Feigan, moving from Chengdu to Nanjing in 1923 and living and studying in Paris in 1927–28, where he wrote his first novel. It lists novels, stories, children's writing and articles, with Spring published in 1938 and Autumn in 1940.[1] Different forms and continuing books give a concrete shape to the writing career.
The bibliography also records translations of authors including Turgenev and Gorky.[1] His work therefore involved bringing other writing to readers as well as expressing his own. Study and movement supplied conditions; having lived in France does not establish that a literary influence was completely mastered. The actual texts remain the place to examine it.
TRADITIONAL INTERPRETATION
Gui-Hai and the accumulation of movement
The reference is Jia-Chen, Yi-Hai, Gui-Hai. Gui Water and Hai's movement can introduce reading, translation and experience across places; Yi Wood asks how work continues to develop, while Chen Earth adds capacity. These are not a birth certificate for a literary style or an explanation of political experiences through Water. Books are not used to reconstruct an unknown hour.
EDITORIAL REFLECTION
Read the connections through the texts
Writing and translation appear together without needing to reduce a writer to a single talent. Advancing a novel and bringing another author's voice into Chinese are different tasks requiring particular words. Reading the publications and translations restores more of the literary work than an itinerary of places and professional titles.
