A visible fault, deliberately kept
A shallow glazed ceramic dish carries an original branching fracture layout. New fracture layout changes the cracks and mineral texture. The dark seams remain visible underneath the gold so the repair has thickness and a history within the digital composition.
Choose the repair in progress
A 0–100% slider reveals gold from the centre along each fracture while lightly separated ceramic pieces rejoin. Seam width changes the gold line without changing the fracture geometry. Ivory, celadon, cobalt and oxblood glazes each hold the highlights differently. No progress advances by itself.
Inspired by a practice, made as art
This is an original digital work inspired by the Japanese idea of kintsugi. It is not repair instruction, traditional lacquer practice or a photograph of a repaired object. Keyboard and touch controls update locally. PNG exports the current 1200 × 1000 canvas, title and visible repair progress.
