The small mark comes first
Draw in the seed square, or choose an original leaf, wave or stitch motif. The pattern repeats your current strokes across a regular grid. Its mirrors and rotations are geometric operations rather than claims about any traditional textile symbol.
A few rules make a rhythm
Plain repeat keeps the motif unchanged. Mirror uses reflections across two axes; quarter-turn alternates four rotations across neighbouring cells. Density changes the number of tiles, while the colourway changes thread and ground. A tile boundary can remain visible when a stroke reaches its edge.
Weave with a keyboard, too
Focus the seed square and use arrow keys to move the pen. Space begins or finishes a stroke; Escape discards the current stroke. Undo removes the latest stroke and Clear creates an empty tile. The saved PNG contains the repeating pattern as it stands, with its title and colourway.
