NINEHOUND / CALENDAR & CULTURE TOOLS

The Year, in Colour

The colour of the air changes before the calendar does. Catch a little of it.

Opening your little corner of the world…

A FIRST LOOK

The year has more than four colours.

Choose a season, change one colour, and keep the resulting folio.

Twelve original colour studies

These five-colour palettes are NineHound’s original design studies, inspired by spring growth, summer light, autumn fields and winter skies. Their poetic names are not historical colour standards, archival samples or traditional seasonal prescriptions.

Make a palette yours

Choose a study, then select a swatch and change its HEX value or use the colour picker. The folio and the contrast pair update immediately. You can copy one HEX value or the whole palette; if clipboard access is unavailable, selectable text provides a fallback.

Contrast has a specific meaning

The displayed ratio uses WCAG relative luminance for opaque sRGB colours. AA requires at least 4.5:1 for ordinary text or 3:1 for large text; AAA ordinary text requires 7:1. Large text means at least 18 pt regular or 14 pt bold. These colour pairs do not certify a whole design, and transparency or image backgrounds need separate checks.
